The other day we were talking about all the silly things we did as kids to pass the time way. Hangman, MASH, and the ever-popular Tic Tac Toe. We’re at the point where Miss H wants to play games but doesn’t quite have the attention span or the ability to have one with too many rules to play. While we were talking, knew that if we didn’t teach her the classics they could be forever gone. So I came up with a fun way for her to play a classic game while having the classic snack, OREO, and a fun printable for you!
The concept of TIC TAC TOE is simple – get 3 in a row and use your OREO to block the other. Instead of the traditional Xs and Os – we upped the fun level and used OREO. Cookie side for one player and Cream side for another. A serving size is 3 OREO cookies for the originals, so if you work as a team, you’ll have plenty to play the game. Just make sure you snack after you play!
The thing I love about this gal is that she loves to learn and try something new. When we said let’s play, she was all over it and listen very attentively to what the rules were and how to play. Of course, she had to sneak in a bite or two of an OREO, they are her favorite. They come in her packaged lunches sometimes and she always saves them for last. My kind of girl.
The two played for quite a while and I was rather impressed.
I think we’ll need to play a few more times before she gets some sneaky moves under her belt, but for the first time playing, she did great! Your kids will love playing this unique way with OREO too! Just print out the playing board printable, get 2 servings of OREO and play!
When all was said and done, Jeff’s favorite part is the dunking. He prefers to put his sandwich cookie back together and then go for the dunk. We decided rather than have a mess all over the place, we’d just leave the dunking to Daddy. He’s more of a Double Stuf kind of guy, and he went to town. Who doesn’t love having fun with their food?
The OREO cookie is one of those classic cookies that will never go out of style.
What is your favorite kind of OREO and how do you like to dunk?
That is sooooo cute!!
This is SUCH a cute idea! I’m going to try it with my three year old…although I’m not sure if the cookies will make it to the second play, haha!
This is such a cute idea! I love how you incorporated a game into snack time! Not to mention that it has Oreo’s too.
This is such a cute idea!
Oreos are my fav and dunking them in milk is the way to do it! Love the game.
So cute! I’m definitely doing this with my girls! Fun!
Adorable and yum! What a fun way to have playtime and a snack! #client
