This weekend was pretty exciting! We attended the Youth Learning Center & The Biome School Game On Gala & Auction. This is an organization that is very near and dear to my family and I was excited to be able to represent our family. Unfortunately, my Granddad couldn’t attend for health reasons, and I had to accept an award on his behalf. I was so glad I had rented my dress from Rent the Runway and had comfortable shoes because I stood up there for a while!
On Saturday, I did my usual – Barre, Trader Joe’s & Coffee. I kind of love my little Saturday routine. The weather was supposed to be gorgeous this weekend too, so we spent the rest of the morning at the park with Miss H. She loves a swing and we have a park close to us that is rarely busy and tons of swings. Always a win when she can swing as long as she wants.
That afternoon we got ready for the Gala. It’s amazing how long it takes to really do your hair and makeup when you’re putting curls and layers of makeup on. But totally worth it.
We had a lovely evening. The Biome is a STEAM Charter School for KDG & 1st Graders and they had fun activities for us to do. One was a Rigamagid. We were tasked with creating the largest free standing structure with only 12 pieces. Of course engineer hubs jumped into gear and I think he ended up having the tallest.
At our tables we had bags of legos and we could race our legos on a Pinewood Derby track that was on the stage. Dinner was awesome. We got to visit with some of my grandparent’s friends and catch up. It’s so nice to see people you’ve known for so long in a room of unfamiliar faces.
Sunday we had a lazy day. Miss H wanted to feed the fish, so we stopped and got a few loaves of bread and headed to another park to feed the fish. Miss H had a blast. We then walked back up and played on the playground for a while. We had a quiet evening, grilled burgers and watched the Oscars. Not very exciting, but sometimes those quite evenings are what you need.
Earlier this week, hubs surprised me with a fun treat. He read about how to have the best spa bath at home. He drew me a bath and got some fun smelling bath salts and I had a glorious bath. Who knew there was a right way to have a bath?
This week, we’ve got MOLOs, MOPs and a fun story time at the Science Center. The weather is supposed to be nice, so we’ll try to spend time outside as much as possible.
That was our weekend, how was yours?
