I’m a slacker, I didn’t blog about the weekend until now. That’s okay though. Here a random splattering of life in the last few days. I think I got a little burnt out last week posting everyday. I need to learn to say no sometimes. Today at my bible study group, we talked a lot about being your authentic self which I find so relevant on so many levels. Often times on my blog, especially Instagram, I find myself trying to portray the best possible version of myself.
Or is it?
I try to be that mom who has their stuff together but really I’m secretly on the Hot Mess Express. I’d love people to think I’m witty, funny, have my stuff together but really not really. While I do shower everyday, go to the barre 3x a week and make dinner every night, we really aren’t that exciting. I thought I’d share some of my more authenticness today.
I was feeling inspired. Humor me.
Take our morning craft – what you don’t see is the rest of my kitchen table covered in breakfast plates, dirty clothes and recycling to take out, but really I’m too lazy to put on shoes. It’s cold out! However, this did turn out to be super cute and I loved every minute of doing it. I’m trying to not step in and direct, even though the whole top corner was missing leaves!!
Saturday I was snapchatting about leggings as pants and this awesome shirt I got at Old Navy. Because I totally left the house with LAP. I know, cardinal sin. Of course at lunch I met one of hubsy’s co-workers. FAIL! Side note on SnapChat – my husband says it’s ridiculous and I should stop. I kind of love it.
Sunday we went back to church. We got there 15 minutes early to put Miss H in the nursery, only to find out the room was full and we had to sit with her in overflow. Try sitting with an almost 2 year old for a worship service. We left in the middle. She did look super cute though. Props to our church for having activity bags and Cheerios. We’ll try again this week and show up earlier!
After church I took crabby pants with me to the grocery store. She was pretty fantastic and we probably took 20 selfies. They were all pretty cute. Maybe I’m biased, but babies in sunglasses are just too cute!
Sunday I went to Fresh Thyme to see what the hype was about, I picked up sushi ( which was awesome) and then paired it with Trader Joe’s veggie fried rice. I buy like 3 bags when we go to Trader Joe’s. I bulk it up with egg, a little soy sauce, green onions and sesame seeds and it is deeeelish! I just didn’t share that pic anywhere – but really good quick meal!
So that’s our boring uneventful authentic weekend. Not as exciting when you don’t add the flare, right?
