Thank you to the Ritz Carlton St. Louis for the invitation to Tea. All opinions are my own.

There is something special about being a girl mom. The ruffles, the baby dolls, I just love it all. I especially love the overly charged imagination Hattie has when it comes to coming up with elaborate tea parties in her playroom. I just love sneaking in every so often to see what she has going on. Her little mind just blows me away sometimes. You know I’m in the memory making business and I am constantly trying to come up with fun and magical moments for us to enjoy together. We were so excited when the Ritz Carlton invited us to help make a magical moment this past weekend with an Afternoon Tea.
We’re no stranger to Tea at the Ritz, we’ve gone to the holiday Teddy Bear Tea the past 2 years with friends. It’s a wonderful tradition we’ve started. There was something special about this time. If you’ve watched any of our stories, you know I have a very busy 4 year old. We’re constantly on the go, and she’s always moving. This particular day a light bulb went off, the manners turned on and she was if only for a short time the most pleasant little lady ever. Not that she isn’t pleasant other times, there was just this sense that she knew this was special.
The Ritz Carlton is hosting a series of full afternoon Tea sessions in their Lobby Lounge for the month of May to honor the special mother in your life. They offer a wide assortment of scones, sandwiches, delicious desserts and of course tea. I thought I’d share with you our fun afternoon and maybe it’s a tradition you’ll add to your springtime calendar.
We started out our tea with a champagne toast to Mom with a hibiscus twist. Hattie had a delicious mocktail of her own with her favorite fruity flavors. Then we were off to the races with our table being covered in amazing small bites perfect for an afternoon tea.
Our plate of Savories included:
- Smoked Salmon Rosette on Cornbread Muffin with Crab Spread (my favorite)
- Curried Chicken Salad Tart with Grapes
- Cucumber with Sundried Tomato Hummus on Naan Bread
- Ham and Cornichon Pâté with Mustard Cream Cheese and Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus (Grammy’s Favorite)
- Classic Ritz-Carlton Open-Faced Egg Salad (Hattie’s Favorite)
They also offered a special plate for Hattie as well with an adorable cutout cheese sandwich the shape of a tea pot and a teddy bear peanut butter and jelly. I’d love to show you a photo of that, but someone was so excited and ate it too quickly! But if your child is a picky eater, they definitely have a kid friendly option. They had both plates available for Hattie, and she tried almost everything, but decided the Egg Salad was indeed her favorite.
Then we were onto desserts. My goodness, so many delicious options. Desserts included:
- White Chocolate & Strawberry Opera Torte
- Financier
- Fresh Raspberry Mousseline Tart
- Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Shortbread
- Citrus Chouquette
All of that plus their famous scones served with Devonshire Cream, Lemon Curd and Fruit Preserves. Let’s just say you will not leave hungry! Let’s not forget the tea too! We had 2 selections to choose from, and Hattie went with the option with mint. She loved serving tea and of course adding one too many sugar cubes to everyone’s cup.
The Ritz Carlton chefs went out of their way to make a special plate just for Hattie’s doll Baby Celia. Everything was miniature and Hattie and Grammy helped Celia with her tea. It was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. They even included adorable Disney characters cutouts on each of the dessert trays. Belle, Ariel and Tinkerbell all had a spot on the table too!
My budding blogger is very much into taking photos like Mommy these days.
She asked to take a picture of her plate.
She has apparently watched me one too many times! I love it.
There is still time to take your favorite Mom to tea this month. Seatings are going all month long on the 12th, 19th and 26th at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Be sure to make your reservation at 314-719-1433. If you need additional time with Mom, consider the Mother’s Day Brunch on May 13th. Looks to be an amazing menu!
Overall, this was such a fun memorable kick off to Mother’s Day festivities. The attention to detail was incredible. We left with a sweet card from the team who helped us while we were there, a photo of our day together and of course delicious scones and tea to eat when we got home. Thank you to the Ritz Carlton for a wonderful start to our Mother’s Day festivities, this will definitely be an annual occurrence now!

Will the Ritz Carlton have any high teas April 25-28, 2022?
I will be visiting St. Louis then and this sounds like a great time.
How much are the tickets and are reservations required?
