While the temperatures outside are starting to say fall, many of your favorite fall activities are in full swing. One of those that we especially love is Apple Picking! St Louis Metro Area has quite the collection of farms on both sides of the river that will offer St Louis Apple Picking options. Every year, it is a family tradition to pick apples and have some good quality time away from the busy lives we lead. You’d never know that St. Louis has quite a few options available with just a short drive. The outlying areas are ripe with fruit ready for you and your family to make those lasting memories. Today, we are sharing with you five of our favorite locations in hopes that it will become a family favorite for you too.
While planning your trip, be sure to check out the farm’s website or Facebook page provided below. Availability, pricing, and schedules change regularly for the farms, so plan accordingly. Many right now have apple varieties from Jonathan, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and more. Also if you need a unique idea for an event, many of these locations host birthday parties and school field trips.
Braeutigam Orchards
(Belleville, IL) – Located in Belleville, this family farm is perfect for the whole family. They offer a wide variety of apples all the way into mid-October. Their Facebook page is regularly updated with crop updates and happenings on the farm. They also offer a variety of vegetables and pumpkin picking options.
Centennial Farms
(Augusta, MO) – This little farm is in the heart of Augusta and perfect for quick apple picking trips. There is a fun kids’ area and lots of apples to pick. Be sure to check their Facebook Page for the latest updates. They make apple cider on-site and everyone is very helpful. Plenty of little red wagons to take into the fields too.
Hermans Farm Orchard
(St. Charles, MO) – A family tradition. Apple picking, hayrides, and more. Come try their new Enterprise Hybrid apples. Their Facebook gives regular updates on availability and all the fun you can have.
Eckert’s Farms
(Grafton, Belleville, Millstadt, IL) – with 3 locations, this is a great opportunity to pick a variety of apples. Check out the Millstadt location for more than just apples, they also have a family fun farm. They are very active on social media and run lots of giveaways on Facebook regularly.
Thierbach Orchard and Berry Farm
(Marthasville, MO) – Located near the Katy Trail, it’s about an hour west of St. Louis. In addition to apple picking, they have Fields of Amazing Fun for $5 for unlimited play per child including mazes and bounce houses. Currently pick your own is just on the weekends.
