Friday morning Miss H woke up with a super runny nose and was crabby. We have been blaming a lot on her teeth lately as those pesky molars have been taking their sweet time to come in. She ended up sleeping till almost 9AM that day. Yay for me, but in my mind something had to be up.
Saturday, we were okay, still you could tell something was bothering her. Didn’t really want to eat and just kinda blah.
Sunday, she slept till 10:30, didn’t want to eat, took a good 3+ hour nap in the afternoon and then proceeded to scream for 2+ hours before bed. Definitely not like her. She wouldn’t let her daddy put her to bed only wanted me and I ended up rocking her for a while but you could tell something wasn’t right. I was in panic mode thinking that something was indeed wrong to the point of loading her up and going to the ER. Trust those momma instincts. Our Dr’s office has walk in appts right at 8:30-9, so I woke H up, put on shoes and we went to the Dr.
Once we got there I filled them in on what was going on and they suggested an RSV test to be on the safe side. They said that an RSV test would take 15 mins to confirm. I thought everything was fine because they had looked in her ear and as I had suspected – EAR INFECTION. Ugh.
The nurse came back 5 mins later with a red stamp that in big letters said RSV directly on her file. I about lost it. I knew H would be okay but I went into major panic mode. You see H’s BFF is a couple months older than her, but he was a preemie and we have worked so hard all winter to keep him from getting sick as it is much worse for preemies to get it. Now he is in tip top shape, but I was so sad and nervous to tell his momma. Luckily, she was okay with it and we’ll watch him, but I’m sure all will be fine.
All Monday Miss H just wanted me to hold her. Not being a snuggly baby, I gladly accepted the snuggles but it was all day long. She slept well last night and seems to be doing better today. No fever, but still with a super stuffy nose and cough. We’ll keep an eye on her and hopefully all will be okay in a couple of days. We just focused on staying hydrated and watching lots of Mickey!
