It’s almost big game time, and while we aren’t a football town anymore, we certainly love getting together with friends and of course, party food. I’ve been making a variation of these Hot Hawaiian Ham & Swiss Sliders for years, but recently when I didn’t have the ingredients I needed one day to make them how I usually do, I was pleasantly surprised on how they turned out! We have been hosting our small group from church at our home and secretly I’ve been trying out new recipes on them. (Shh don’t tell them!) And this was a hit!
My new secret ingredient? Grainy Mustard. You already have the yummy poppy seeds on top, so it’s just an extra burst of flavor! I just love it. This year we don’t have big plans, because I’m not sure anyone is super excited about the teams? Nevertheless, we’re just going to hang out, watch the Puppy Bowl (because aren’t they the real winners?) and have some snacks!
Here is how you make these crowd pleasing sliders.
Combine melted butter and all of your spices into a mixing bowl. Slice your rolls, add 1 slice ham to each roll, cover all with a blanket of cheese slices and put on the tops of the rolls again.
Then just pour over that yummy buttery, oniony, poppy seed goodness and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to soak up and appreciate all the love those rolls just got!
Then, just bake them at 350 for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melty. Because who doesn’t love melty cheese? I always love having these types of what I call “assembly appetizers” on hand because it is just so easy and always a crowd pleaser!
And there you have it. You could easily switch up the meat and cheese options too and go for turkey and cheddar. I bet that would be amazing too! I just love a hot ham and cheese though, don’t you?
