Last month I took the plunge and ordered a Nap Dress. I wasn’t sure it was going to fit, or if the style would be flattering, but let me tell you, I’m a big fan. Today, I’ll share my Nap Dress Plus Size Review featuring the Hill House Nap Dress. I’m sure you’ve seen variations of this dress and historically as a curvier lady, I shy from these types of trends for fear of boutique-style sizing. After lots of reviews, I opted for the Ellie Nap Dress in Light Blue Glitter Check.
Sizing & Fit
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the fit. This dress is not boutique-style sizing. Historically, I wear an XL/XXL/18 and ordered the XL. The reviews suggested going down 1 size but I was concerned with a larger chest that the smocking would look like it was pulling. I can easily wear a regular bra with the oversized ruffle sleeve and no issues with bulging in the back of the dress with smocking. After reading a lot of reviews, I learned for a smaller chest, you could easily wear a bandeau or a strapless bra or no bra at all. I need support, so that wasn’t going to work. I’m thrilled I can wear my regular full coverage bra with it. Overall, I was happy with the XL, I could have sized down, but glad I didn’t. For height reference, I’m a 5’3 and felt it hit midi length perfectly.
Easy to Style
I paired my Nap Dress with Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal 30 and a Kate Spade Cherry Picnic Basket. I’ve seen this dress paired with white sneakers and a jean jacket to turtlenecks underneath for winter. The Ellie Nap Dress in Light Blue Glitter Check has the faintest metallic thread that gives it that wow factor. I don’t think you need to wear a slip underneath, I felt here was enough coverage from the fabric.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m thrilled with this purchase. I’m excited for the new release coming out this month of girls’ dresses. Hattie would be adorable in a Mommy & Me match. I’m planning beach photos for our summer vacation and thinking this pale color blue would be the perfect color on the sugary sands of 30A. I can see myself adding another one to the collection.
If you have any specific questions about size or fit, let me know, I’d love to help you add this gorgeous frock to your collection.

So glad I found your review. I am a solid size 14 and just saw the red tartan Ellie dress and I am seriously drooling. I was concerned it may look a bit childish or even dumpy on someone my size (5’1”) but your post has given me the confidence to give one a try. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
The Tartan is SO pretty! Glad the review was helpful for you!
