We have a divided house. I am team Apple while my husband is team Android. Having an iPad, iPhone and Mac just made it easy for me seamlessly run my life and blog right up until Hattie needed a tablet. Being the loving Mom that I am, I gave up my iPad and she has used it for the past few years with no issues. We’ve recently started to notice that some of her favorite apps no longer supported due to the age of her iPad and we needed a solution. While I’d love to purchase a new iPad, it doesn’t make sense for a 5-year-old to have that expensive of a device. We’ve tried other tablets and Hattie really struggled with the usability of them. Ultimately, we decided Apple was the best OS for her. While she doesn’t need the latest and greatest, we do need something that is going to get her through elementary school. We recently came across iTechshark, a St. Louis company, that is a one-stop shop for all things Apple. At iTechshark, they Shop Smart, Repair Smart, and Sell Smart, meaning that we have the opportunity to look at slightly loved iPads that are potentially in our budget.
I had the opportunity to stop in this past week to see what iTechshark was all about with the goal to see if we could update Hattie’s iPad with a newer version. I was surprised to find that not only did they have refurbished iPads, they also did a lot more.
Shop Smart
If you’re looking for a newer Apple product or slightly used, they have what you are looking for. Inventory will range based on availability and location, so be sure to check out online and in-store to see what is available. They sell Macs, iPads, iPhones, and Apple Watches. When we stopped in they had an assortment of everything. I spoke with the technicians about our needs, and they recommended an iPad 5 or 6 which they did have.
Every product they sell comes with a 1-year warranty, 14-day hassle-free return policy and has been tested and refurbished by certified technicians so you know you are getting exactly what you are wanting.
Repair Smart
We’ve been fortunate that Hattie has only cracked her screen once since she has been using her iPad. At iTechshark, you can book repair online and get your device back up and running in no time. They have a list of pricing, so you know what will be going into the appointment. When speaking with the team, they let me know that if we are looking to get Hattie a new iPad, the cost of repairing screens on a 5 to 6 would be the most cost-effective. They were very upfront about their pricing and helped steer us in the right direction for what would be best for an active child.
Sell Smart
If you have any devices you are looking to sell iTechshark has 2 options for you. You can take a cash payment for your devices or store credit which will give you a bonus of 10%! You can use the credit in-store for a new device of your choice! Stop by for an inspection and get an on-the-spot offer! Definitely, time to clean out those office drawers of old phones and items!
Location
You can find iTechshark in Ballwin,
Overall, I think the best approach for Hattie’s iPad going forward will be to trade in her current iPad, and purchase an iPad 5 or 6 depending on the inventory that iTechshark has. The team there was helpful in giving us the recommendation and the solution that we will need in the next few weeks. If you are in the market to buy, sell or have your Apple product that needs repair, definitely consider iTechshark.
