It is not every day that you get to check one of your bucket list items off your every growing list, but last week I was able to do just that. I had the pleasure of visiting the Magnolia Market and Silos in Waxo, Texas. My dear friend Michelle who is one of the two behind Moms Without Answers asked me to come to Houston for an amazing girls weekend for her birthday. I obviously could not say no to that. She wanted to take the almost three hour trip to Waco so I could see with my own eyes the magic of Chip & Joanna.
Michelle had been before, so she knew the the ins and ours of Waco and what to expect. I got to experience Buck-ee’s and had my first experience with In and Out Burger which led me to question the hype. Their fries are really not good! We were hoping we just got a bad batch. But, we arrived in Waco early afternoon and started out with a quick survey of the land. It’s a nice sized area with a gorgeous green space with a stage perfect for concerts and hanging out during the day. It was super hot that day, so everyone stayed in the shade.
I knew that I needed to replace my spoon rest that had gotten broken a few months back and other than that I had no expectations of offerings in Magnolia Market. I love Joanna’s style, so once I walked in, it was warm and inviting. Nothing really jumped out at me like I had to take it home. I got my spoon rest and picked up a bath bomb for Hattie, but that was about the extent of my purchases. A little disappointed with my lack of shopping, we wandered back to the Magnolia Seed + Supply store which is a much smaller green house sized store. This is was probably my favorite area. Between the backyard garden and all of the succulents, this was my kind of space.
I debating bringing succulents home, but I was afraid I’d dump them out on the plane.
I absolutely loved how they decorated for fall. The pumpkins tucked into the gardens were just so whimsical and unexpected.
There is ample seating, lots of permanent food trucks like Common Ground Coffee, a grilled cheese truck and a few others. We had eaten In and Out, so we knew we just needed dessert. Off to the Silo Baking Company!
Now if we were headed to Waco this weekend, we would have made it for the Silobration, but I’m thinking it’s probably a good thing we got here when we did. The line for dessert was about a 20 minute wait, and you had to be prepared. Of course, I needed a Silobration cupcake, that seemed silly not to get. I also picked up their amazing chocolate chip cookies that I ate for breakfast next day. Talk about breakfast of champions!
Their cupcakes were dense and the frosting was super sweet. I’m not a fan of a lot of frosting, so most of it was left behind. Overall, a really yummy cupcake!
Overall, my first trip to Magnolia was a lot of fun. I’d definitely go back again for a fun day and probably check out the food trucks and hopefully go on a cooler and cloudier day to take full advantage of the space. We probably spent 3-4 hours there and then checked out the Spice Market in Waco too.
Have you been to Waco and Magnolia before?

My sister went a few weekends ago, met Jo’s mom and had a good time. My stepmom mentioned going in 2018 so I may tag along since I saw pioneer woman with her.
