Friday Five

November 20, 2015 by Jen 7 Comments

Happy Friday everyone! Good week? I kept getting thrown off because technically it was a short week for us. In case you missed it, we had our Mini Mini Vacation and got back on Monday – which is why I’m all throw off! I’m teaming up with some of my favorite ladies around the blog world for my Friday Five. This one is a good one!

Here we go!

1) Polar Express – So I’m excited tonight we’ll be going to the Polar Express! If you recall our visit on the Peanuts Express, I think it’s similar. I just found on a local board that most people wear their Christmas jammies. I should have probably read the FAQ beforehand. Oops! Well, I’m certainly not prepared and neither is hubs. Maybe we’ll just have Miss H be an elf and call it a day. We’ll be staying downtown at the Union Station Hilton – so stay tuned for a full report next week!

2) Swim Lessons – Last week we ended our tumbling class, and this week we ended our MOLO’s group and MOPs for the rest of the year. So sad! We’ll pick those back up after the holidays, but we needed an activity to fill the time. We missed the first class on Tuesday, but jumped right in on Thursday. Miss H is one of the bigger kids in the group and she is fearless in the water. She went under a few times and the other moms just look like OMG is she okay. She’s fine! She goes under in the tub! It was exceptionally chilly to the point where she had blue lips! I know, too cold…but she had a blast. We’ve got 2 lessons a week for the month up until Christmas. Perfect timing for our post holiday/pre-birthday vacation! Isn’t she a cheese?

3) Nickel & Suede – (Again) I showed ya’ll last week my new earrings, but I have to gush again. I love these earrings. They are having a 20% off sale for Thanksgiving, and I may need to treat myself to a few more pairs! Look out girls, you may be getting a pair from me for Christmas!
4) Bookroo – We got our first book box from Bookroo this week. I’m excited to share more with you about it soon. It’s a great Holiday gift for the littlest book lover in your life. If you’re interested, Bookroo is offering my readers $4 off their first box.
5) Friendsgiving! – I’m so excited that our annual Friendsgiving is this weekend! Every year our group of friends comes together and we have a blast. We’ve done it so many times, we now just have to bring the usual and there really isn’t a question on what you are bringing. I’ll be whipping up my favorite Brussel Sprouts with pancetta and Cranberry Fluffy Stuff. It’s a top secret family recipe. Probably not, but I’m gonna roll with that. It’s pretty much a bowl of heavy whipping cream and cranberries, and some other goodness!
This was Hattie’s first Friendsgiving last year. She had a blast!

Do you celebrate Friendsgiving? Friends are the family that you choose to have, so it is extra special for me! Bonus that some of my family is apart of our small group.

Have a great weekend!

My cousin has taken her kids on the Polar Express and around here just the kids are in their jammies not the grown ups. Just clarifying because I couldn't tell if you were saying you thought the adults do too. Although maybe in your area the adults do too? Either way I think you'd be ok if none of you wore pjs. Have a great time!

We do a friendsigiving on Canadian thanksgiving in October! But, we also go to a friend's house for American Thanksgiving too. Friends all around. Those earrings are so fun, I wish I could wear earrings better. My ear was ripped as a little kid so earrings usually just don't work.

I'm SO excited to hear about your Polar Express trip! I saw some sneak peeks on Snapchat but can't wait for your recap. I've been wanting to take Mason to one but the nearest one is in Arizona and quite the drive so I'd love to hear how you guys liked it!
