Before Miss H was born, Hubs had these grand plans of having a movie room in the basement. We went back and forth on seating and finally decided on movie theater seats. 3 seats to be exact. He was always planning for the day when Miss H would be able to experience her first movie. Now that she is two, we decided it was time to let her experience what a movie night at home is with the help of Walmart Family Mobile and Swedish Fish! You see, Miss H is obsessed with fishing, fish and pretty much anything that lives in the water. A few weeks ago, I picked up juice boxes with Nemo on the side and ever since she has “Movie Juice”. We thought, wouldn’t it be fun to have a Nemo movie night full of fun under the sea fun, snacks and watch the movie!

I picked up my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime for $79.92  (on Rollback from $99.92) and Starter Pack and I was off to the races. Bonus – for the first time ever the starter kit will be on rollback for $19.88 (from $25). Set up is a breeze as I was able to and set myself up with the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan featuring Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE plus a free movie on VUDU every month ($7 value) per line for $49.88. The plan includes more data at a value with 10GB of 4G LTE.

I was also excited that I could get Finding Nemo on VUDU as our movie perk. Every month, you get one free movie that you can use to cast onto your home TV. We have a Chromecast(R), so this is super easy to do.

Really, who goes to a movie rental store anymore anyway?

With the movie handled, I put my creative mom cap and though about how I could make her a sweet treat with Swedish Fish to look like they are under water too. Such a cute idea with a few ingredients. I decorated with Nemo characters as well as our favorite goldfish cracker in a sand bucket with a shovel for a spoon. I also included a few sodas for Mom and Dad.

As far as a first timer watching a movie, she didn’t last through the whole movie. She was asleep by the middle, and that’s okay. She had such a fun time sitting in the big chairs in the basement, enjoying snacks and having quality family time. I see many more movie nights in our future.

I was also able to pick up all my movie snacks and my family sized bag of Swedish Fish at Walmart too which are on Rollback for $4.48.  You can easily recreate your Swimmy Fish Cups at home too! Swedish Fish can be found in the candy aisle, and you can get all of the information about the Walmart Family Plan in the Electronics Department at the Mobile Kiosk in the front of the store. Be sure to visit the Walmart Family Mobile Hub to find out when an in-store representative will be in-store to assist. They will have Swedish Fish samples, too!

  1. Whaaat? Those little cups are so precious!! What an awesome evening for you all. How do you like the Samsung? We are a house divided. My husband is 100% android and I am 100% apple.

So fun! Noah is a huge fan of Swedish fish so he would love this! We've taken Noah to a movie in the theater and he did surprisingly well, but at home he tends to prefer shows or falls asleep.

  3. Oh, those fish cups are so, so cute! Love this! I definitely prefer movies at home with the kids right now!

  4. Julie says:

Very cute!! Could you take a pic of your basement with that red couch and send it to me? Keith is pondering that color with a couch we might get and I forgot you had one until I saw this picture and it looks good with the colors.

  5. Movie at home are the only way to go now that we have a little one so love the snacks you have here. Swedish Fish are my favorite.

  6. OMG girl! That is the cutest way to enjoy a movie night at home ever. I can't let my kiddos see this or they will think their popcorn and m&ms are boring. Ha ha! Great ideas.
