For as long as I can remember since Miss H was born and eating table food, we made it a family priority to have breakfast together every single morning. For me, growing up eating organic just wasn’t a thing. But when Hattie joined the team, it was a family priority to feed her the best we could and knew organic was the route to go. From healthy baby food options to getting produce from a local farmer, we knew instilling those values early would set her up for healthy eating success down the road.
On the weekend, Miss H will wake up at her normal time, but we let Jeff sleep because he works so hard during the week. We usually make some kind of indulgent sweet treat. On those mornings we have a little extra time, we love the Annie’s Organic Cinnamon Rolls. There is a lot of misconceptions about eating organic means losing flavor and deliciousness. That’s just not the case. These cinnamon rolls pack a punch and that sweet icing is indulgent treat!
Miss H likes helping arrange all of the cinnamon rolls in the pan. Then we have to keep the oven light on so she can watch them bake. She loves being in the kitchen. For me it is so important for her to be in the kitchen with me. Every meal she stands on her step stool and we talk about every ingredient and how they go together. It encourages her to try new things and learn about where foods come from. I think our garden this summer really helped her understand that concept.
