If you’ve been following our home project over on Instagram stories, one of the biggest projects we’ve tackled is the update of our home office. We wanted to create a space that was comfortable, inviting, and perfect to get creative juices flowing. Our friends at Erin Condren recently came out with a collection of Home Office Desk Accessories and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to add a few pops of color to the space.
My friend Amanda Brandt is a local St. Louis realtor and answered my cry for help with styling the bookshelves. Last week we met up and she helped me style the shelves with all of my existing items in my home as well as many pieces from the new Erin Condren Home Office collection. By trade, Amanda helps clients minimize what they have in their homes to sell their homes. Obviously, with staging, you want to have the right amount of accessorizing but not so much that a potential buyer can’t see themselves in the home. I let Amanda go wild and shop everywhere in my home to bring our bookshelves to life.
I have to say styling bookshelves is an art. Amanda moved pieces all over and color-blocked books to give the space a cohesive and inviting feel. The biggest takeaway from this experience was not to be afraid of color. Obviously, with big bold colors, it’s a fun way to incorporate your personal style and that pop of color the space needs. With lots of white built-in shelves and navy blue walls, (Sherwin Williams Naval) it’s is definitely crying out for color.
Overall, I really loved how the Erin Condren Collection brought the whole space together. I love the acrylic containers as well as the cool pastel colors that really tie in with the gold accents. Stay tuned for a final full reveal of the entire build in desk soon!
