Celebrating National Nutrition Month with Boston Market’s Healthy Dining Options + Giveaway

March 24, 2016 by Jen 47 Comments

This shop has been compensated by Boston Market. All opinions are mine alone. #NationalNutritionMonth #BostonMarket

Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? Well, really all months should be focused on nutrition, but we give it extra love this month. For me, feeding my family a well rounded nutritious meal is priority one for me every night. But when I don’t feel like cooking or we have an activity planned, I love to look to restaurants like Boston Market to help out.

I have such fond memories of Boston Market growing up. Every Sunday we would go after church and have lunch as a family and of course I always tried to sneak an extra piece of corn bread. Even though our family traditions are different now with Miss H, we still find the time and have a meal as a family.

While I don’t have to sneak the cornbread anymore, I am excited to share Boston Market’s focus on a lower calorie meals and less sodium – corn bread included! Boston Market currently has a menu featuring meals that are 550 calories and less with 150 different options. So many choices! On our most recent dinner out, we decided to take advantage of that menu and see what they had to offer!

Hubs had the Rotisserie Chicken Special that came with 2 sides and corn bread all for $8.49! Miss H tried to sneak those apples away. We almost got an extra order of chicken to go so he could put it in his lunch for work.

I had my trusty favorite – the Roasted Turkey. I’m one of those people who finds something and sticks with it. Instead of my favorite creamed spinach and macaroni and cheese, I opted for the lighter fare and had the garlic dill potatoes and green beans. This was almost too much food! I couldn’t even finish it all!

We couldn’t leave out Miss H. She’s not terribly picky when we eat out. We always make sure there is a protein and veggies on her plate, and tonight a special treat of macaroni & cheese! But, she had to be just like mommy and have turkey and green beans. We always give her options, so she is more inclined to want to try things! Seems to be working!

Miss H especially loved the fun kid’s plate that is apart of the kid’s meal. Boston Market is a proud participant in the National Restaurant Association’s “Kids LiveWell” program and a strategic partner of the United States Department of Agriculture “MyPlate” program. So many heathy choices for her to eat well too! The green beans were a big hit!

Now that you’ve seen how we like to curb our calories and sneak in a family dinner, Boston Market and And Hattie Makes Three have teamed up to for you to win a $100 Gift Card to try out the 550 and less menu yourself. However, I won’t tell if you just have to have an extra piece of cornbread too!  Winner will be announce April 3rd! Good Luck!

Wow! You know, when I don't have the time to cook, or we have errands to run, I really struggle with where to go for lighter meals (you can only have so many fatty pasta dishes from our current fave restaurant). This looks awesome! Thanks for the post bc I've never been so I'd never know.
