We’re an on-the-go kind of family. I’m not one to sit still for any period of time, and that’s why you see us popping up all over the St. Louis area! One of the biggest questions I get on a regular basis, is what are some of our favorite activities around town? I always say St. Louis is a GREAT place to raise a family. Many of the big attractions are completely free and very parent-friendly. I love exposing Hattie to all kinds of adventures and experiences and not feeling like I’m spending a fortune. Especially in summer, we love getting out and seeing all that St. Louis has to offer. For my local and of course, my out-of-town friends visiting the Lou, I put together a fun list of places we love to go. If you need more information, it’s all there linked for you! Without further adieu, here are five of our top activities to do in St. Louis! Happy exploring!
Grant’s Farm
Oh Grant’s Farm, how I love thee. From the affordable fun passes for kids to the free beer for parents, this is one of our favorite stops many times during the season. Pro Tip – if you’re planning on going more than 4 times in a season, consider getting the parking pass, it’s $60 and pays for itself! Head over and see all the many other reasons to love Grant’s Farm.
Saint Louis Zoo
The Saint Louis Zoo is our early morning summer fun to beat the heat! Did you know the first hour the zoo is open, most of the paid attractions are free! Make sure you slide into the Children’s Zoo right before the hour is up to take full advantage of time there! Learn more about what they have to offer and times for our favorite Sea Lion Show!
St. Louis Cardinals Game
With the home opener this week, we always add a few trips to Busch Stadium to our summer schedule to see the St. Louis Cardinals. There is a great play area for kids in the outfield (bring socks!) and looks like there are some great ticket promotions going on as well!
Gateway Arch
With the newly remodeled Museum at the Gateway Arch, you have a reason to be a tourist in your city once again. The Museum opened last summer, and it’s a great hands-on exhibit to learn all about the westward expansion. Check out our review and don’t forget to pick up tickets ahead of time to save on waiting in line!
Eckert’s Farms
We Love Eckert’s Farm! It’s a part of our summer plans with apples, Apple Fest, strawberries and peaches, Easter and the Millstadt Fun Farm, and more! It’s more tradition than anything now and love to see the photos of Hattie year after year. We love being able to support local farmers, pick fresh fruits and veggies, and share them with our friends and family at home!
Those are a few of our favorite places. We’ll continue to add to the list as we share new places. Are there any St. Louis attractions you love visiting with your family?
