Summer is here and that means fresh and healthy snacks. We are so fortunate that we have a pool we can visit on a regular basis this summer. Because my brother and sister in law live so close, we told them we’d bring snacks when we come over. In summer I love hydrating snacks that are good for you and yummy. I love this 3 ingredient fruit dip because it reminds me of one of my favorite local chain restaurant’s fruit dip.
Now, I’m fairly certain you have 2 of these 3 ingredients – brown sugar and sour cream. This may sound like a crazy combination, but it works so well. The secret ingredient to punching up the flavors is a hint of orange. This can be achieved with orange extract, triple sec, Cointreau, or even a splash of orange juice concentrate.
Kebabs couldn’t be any easier, just find 3-4 of your favorite fruits and add them to skewers. I happened to have metal BBQ skewers, but bamboo or plastic would be great as well. Not feeling like kebab, make a beautiful fruit tray. Whatever you feel like making, the dip will be the star of the show.
This easy dip is perfect for your next fruit tray.
- 1 Cup Full Fat Sour Cream
- 1/2 Cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
- 1 TBSP Orange Liqueur or Extract
- In a bowl, combine all ingredients together. Cover and let set in the fridge for 1 hour or longer.
- Serve with your favorite fruit.
