Did Daylight Savings do a number on anyone yesterday? Miss H did not do well. Woke up SUPER early, didn’t nap and was just all around a tough day. I’m a little glad she is at school this morning – Momma needed a break!
We did have such a fun weekend. On Saturday, Jeff and I went kitchen shopping and we’re not quite agreeing on the look. He’s making it harder than it needs to be with soffits and moving cabinets. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to go crazy if this is not going to be our forever home. We’ll see how it pans out. We’re meeting with a designer tomorrow and going into more detail. Wish us luck!
After our kitchen crusade, we laid low and headed out to Lantern Festival after nap. We had been given tickets to attend and I was excited to go! It was at a farm about 30 minutes from where we lived. Traffic was horrible getting there because of the 1 lane roads and the 7000 people who were coming to the event! Yowie! Once we got in, we got kits for s’mores, our lanterns and we found a spot to sit and chill out until it was go time.
Miss H colored our lanterns for us to occupy her. We found a great spot and knew when it was go time with the lanterns we were going to book it out of there so we wouldn’t have to sit in traffic.
I will say, the lanterns all going at the same time was stunning. Everyone was grumbly that the lantern lift off was late and then went they went, everyone just got really quiet. So peaceful and just a magical moment. I’m glad we got to go.
Suday we went to church – and hurray no biting again! We’ve done really well the past few days, so hopefully we’re on the tail end of this awful phase of toddlerness. I’m kind of over cake pops too. Today we persuaded her with Rice Krispie Treats when we went to lunch. I’ll call it a win! I spent a good 2 hours cleaning out the pantry. I’m really embarrassed to admit how much food we threw away. Just expired things left and right. But now I have a good inventory of what’s going on.
As for this week – we’ve got a pretty quiet week. I’ve got a lot of action on the blog this week so stay tuned – and bring your sweet tooth!
I’m also excited to share that I am the newest contributor over at Moms Without Answers! I’ve been a long time lover of their page and felt so honored to be invited to join their team. Be sure to check out my first post today it’s a yummy one – Fluffy Cranberry Pineapple Salad!
