It’s not very often that I’m invited to fun and unique non-kid opportunities in the St. Louis area to try new things. A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Noodles & Company to see learn about their new pairing menu with Schlafly. Being from the area, it was a fun new partnership between 2 companies that I really like. I typically do not write about adult beverages on the blog to keep it more family friendly, but I felt this was one opportunity where the food definitely stood out to me and definitely a family friendly restaurant.
I invited my BFF, Melissa, along to sample with me. We arrived and we were greeted by some amazing people from both companies. The evening was gorgeous, so the event was held on their outdoor patio. We learned all about the Noodle & Company philosophy of real food, real ingredients. All fresh produce. No microwaves and rice krispie treats made in house daily. Yum! We also learned about Schlafly and their bottling process. We had beer that that had been bottled that week and learned the history of the company. We even learned that the yeast for one of the beers was given as a wedding gift long ago! Interesting!
We could basically try anything on the menu at request, but they had a 6 course tasting menu laid out for us to try. We took lots of notes! Everyone was really laid back, super engaging and really want to hear out feedback! Here is what we had!
First up the Appetizers.
We had the Potstickers. Now these are not your typical potstickers – they are cooked on a flat top. I could compare it almost to a chewy quesadilla. They were good, definitely a good spin on a traditional potsticker.
Cheesy Garlic Bread – be still my heart. This was delicious. So much so that we asked to keep it at the table the entire meal. It’s always so hard to get bread in the beginning knowing you’re going to eat a mound of pasta!
Up Next – Bangkok Curry with Shrimp – 2 Things I don’t care for – curry & shrimp. I tried it, I’m not a fan of coconut either, but Melissa loved this one.
Bottom Left – Thai Hot Pot – This was originally not on the menu, but it was requested by another attendee. I’ve never had a Hot Pot before, and I will say, I would totally get this again – and it’s CURRY! I know. It also came with this super delicious flat bread that I could have boxed up and taken home and eaten in the dark with that garlic cheese bread.
These were paired with a Pale Ale, Kolsch and Hefeweisen.
Top Left – Dessert! – They had an assortment of Snicker Doodles, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Rice Krispie Treats which those are made in house. I know whenever we go to Noodles hubs always gets one for dessert. So yummy!
